Veno-occlusive Disease After Bone Marrow Transplantation : Value of Doppler Ultrasonography for Diagnosis

Nathalie Lassau is Co-director of the University Research Unit of Imaging at the Institut Gustave-Roussy, Villejuif, France. She is a radiology specialist for des Centres de Lutte Contre le Cancer (CLCC) and is also Director of the Institut de Formation Supérieure Biomédicale (IFSBM), Faculty of Medicine, Université Paris Saclay. Professor Lassau completed her medical and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Lariboisiere-Saint-Louis, Université Paris Diderot. She received a university diploma in ultrasound methods in medicine, echography and Doppler from the Université Paris Descartes and a MSc in biology and medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, Université Paris-Sud. She has also received a PhD in medical imaging from the Université Paris-Sud. Professor Lassau was Head of the multinational Dynamic Contrast Enhanced–Ultrasonography (DCE–US) study for the early evaluation of anti-angiogenic treatments, supported by the French Ministry of Health. She is an international authority on the development of DCE–US from laboratory to clinic for the evaluation of treatment in oncology and has published a validation of US–Doppler criteria for the diagnosis of veno-occlusive disease (VOD) in patients after bone-marrow transplant. She has authored more than 125 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
