2011 Otsuka/CBMTG Small Budget Research Grants Awarded

The Canadian Blood and Marrow Transplant Group is pleased to announce that the following members have been awarded the Otsuka/CBMTG Small Budget Research Grants 2011

  • Sarah Beattie, Doctoral Student at the University of Ottawa, School of Psychology for her research titled, “The Psychosocial Impact of Being a Caregiver and Care Recipient During a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation”.

  • Dr. Janice Yeung, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for her research titled, "Evaluation of a Voriconazole Dosing Adjustment Algorithm in the Management of Fungal Infections in Patients with Hematological Malignancies".

  • Dr. Elizabeth Krakow of Hopital Maisonneuve-Rosemont for her research titled “Does increasing immunosuppression prevent transplant associated lung disease triggered by viral respiratory infection”.

  • Dr. Shepphard, Blood and Marrow Transplant Fellow, University of Ottawa, for her research titled “The influence of genetic polymorphisms on the development of severe gastrointestinal complications during autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

2011 Otsuka/CBMTG New Investigator Grant Awarded

We are pleased to announce that Geoff Cuvelier MD FRCPC, University of Manitoba Department of Pediatrics Manitoba Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, has been awarded the New Investigator Grant for his research titled, “Evaluation of the aspirin triggered lipoxin 15-epi-Lxa4 on survival in a murine model of lethal acute graft versus host disease”. Congratulations!
