CBMTG Membership
CBMTG has approximately 200 members. The multidisciplinary membership represents a wide range of health care professionals who work on BMT and hematology in Canada.
CBMTG offers the following types of membership:
Individual Memberships
CBMTG Physician/PhD Membership:
Physician/PhD membership is open to applicants with major and sustained interest in blood and marrow transplantation who hold an MD, PhD or internationally equivalent degree. Active members pay dues and have all privileges of the Society including the right to vote, hold office, and serve on committees. Approximately 40% of our membership is made up of Physicians/PhD members.
Allied Health Membership:
Allied Health membership is open to applications who are members of an allied profession (e.g. nursing, pharmacy, laboratory technology, social work), or members who hold a leadership position in a hospital-based blood and marrow transplantation program, affiliated university-based laboratory program or non-profit allied health care provider. Active members pay dues and have all privileges of the Society including the right to vote, hold office, and serve on committees. Approximately 30 % of our membership is made up of Allied Health Members.
*If you are already a member of CANO/ACIO, you are eligible to receive a $25 discount on your CBMTG membership. Contact Brian Poole (brian@cbmtg.org) for more information.*
CBMTG In-Training Members:
In-Training membership is open to individuals registered in a relevant Baccalaureate, MSc, PhD, MD or internationally equivalent post graduate training program. An In-Training Member must provide a letter from their supervisor verifying their status and briefly describing their program of study. Active members have all privileges of membership, except the right to vote or hold office. Approximately 2 % of our membership is made up of physicians in training.
Organizational membership
Organizational membership is available to societies, hospitals and laboratories whose staff wish to join CBMTG as a group. There are no official membership requirements. Membership rates are based on the number of staff who wish to become CBMTG members and offer a cost savings for the organization over individual memberships. Benefits of membership for each organizational member are the same of that of an individual member. Approximately 23% of our members are organizational members
Corporate membership
Corporate membership is available at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Corporate membership benefits include market research opportunities with members, discounts on marketing and sponsorship opportunities, access to key opinion leaders within CBMTG and access BMT statistics and Clinical Trials reports.
Regional distribution of membership
Our membership is spread throughout Canada as follows: Alberta—15%; Atlantic Canada 6%, British Columbia 12%, Manitoba 5%, Ontario 32%, Quebec 12%, Saskatchewan 14%. In addition to these Canadian members, CBMTG has a few international members, which make up a total of 6% of our membership.
