Structure and Governance
The CBMTG is led by some of the most prominent individuals in the Canadian blood and marrow transplantation community. These individuals sit on the following CBMTG governing bodies:
Board of Directors: The Board of Directors is the governing body of the CBMTG. The Board supervises, controls and directs the business and affairs of the Society, actively promotes its purposes and supervises the disbursement of its funds.
Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors. Subject to the control of the Board, the Executive Committee supervises and directs the financial affairs of the Society, has an annual audit conducted by a certified public accounting firm and performs other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Advisory Committee: The Advisory Committee deliberates upon and advises the Executive Committee and Board of Directors concerning the actions of the Society's committees, the long range development and policies of the Society, and other actions and activities which the Advisory Committee determines to be in the best interest of the Society. It makes recommendations regarding honorary members, the awards of the Society, the establishment of orations, or other actions of a distinguishing nature.
